The Emilio Nares Foundation provides free transportation to medical treatments and other free family support programs to underserved children with cancer. We help families navigate through their child’s journey with cancer. We give families the gift of HOPE.
Navigating families through their child’s journey with cancer is more than something we say – it is something we do. We are proud that we have been serving children diagnosed with cancer in San Diego, Imperial, and Orange Counties for more than 15 years.
The Emilio Nares Foundation was founded in 2003 after five-year-old Emilio lost his brave battle with cancer. That is when an inspiring dream was developed into driving families to and from life-saving cancer treatments who were previously unable to get to the hospital due to lack of transportation. This dream steadily grew into a reality, and a much bigger movement.
Today, we honor Emilio’s memory by helping families meet basic needs, from the day the get their child’s dreadful diagnosis to the end of their treatment, or in some cases, the loss of their child. Emilio’s spirit can be felt in the hundreds of young patients ENF serves, in the laughter in the van, a comforting hand during hard times at the hospital, and in the smiling eyes of our families. Emilio’s courage inspires all of us in our movement to help families navigate through their journey.
We invite you to join us in this transformational work. Your financial support will ensure that we can continue to provide the families we serve with all the life changing support they need. With your help, we will continue to make a difference in the lives of our ENF families.
