Speaker Bio
Elizabeth 'Issie' Karan is a private practice attorney who serves as General Counsel for the Hemophilia Alliance. Her work focuses on the 340B Program, compliance with federal grant rules, and health care advocacy. After six years working at the law firm, Feldesman Leifer, in Washington, DC, she founded the Karan Legal Group PLLC in 2020 to serve nonprofit healthcare providers, specializing in underserved patient populations, and shorty thereafter established the Artemis Policy Group with Johanna Gray & Ellen Riker to provide lobbying and other consulting services to nonprofit organizations working to promote health policies that benefit people. Elizabeth earned her J.D. and M.P.H. degrees from the University of Minnesota and her B.S. in Biology and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is admitted to practice law in Minnesota and D.C.
